Looking back, /i suppose Dave was one of the early guitar heroes for his amazing 'Sabre Dance' while in Love Sculpture (a great 60s band name)

This came out in 1975. Basically its Dave with the Brinsley Schwarz band. The album produced two Top 10 singles in the UK, remakes of the Phil Spector hit "Baby, I Love You" and The Chordettes' "Born to Be with You".

There are two live tracks - annoyingly it doesn't say where and when they were recorded - of Chuck Berry numbers, 'No Money Down' and 'Let It Rock' and they absolutely tear the grooves off the record.

While he focused on that 50s and 60s rock n roll sound rather than embrace the 70s heavy rock vibe, he was and still is, a rip snorter of a player who knows his way around a fret board better than most.
